Mbayani Tayai is the Founder and Director of Vunisha, a Tanzanian social enterprise committed to turning tourism into a powerful engine for community empowerment.
Born and raised in Tanzania, Mbayani has always been passionate about creating opportunities that uplift rural communities. He pursued higher education in the United States, earning a Master’s Degree in Public and Nonprofit Administration, where he specialized in leadership, nonprofit management, and social impact strategies.
Over the past decade, he has led and supported multiple community development initiatives, including projects that provide clean water access and economic opportunities for rural families. His work has helped mobilize international support and partnerships to improve livelihoods in underserved communities.
Through Vunisha, Mbayani is building a new model of tourism—one where travelers experience the beauty of Tanzania while directly contributing to the wellbeing of local communities.
